Well the concert was great! Never before have we seen so many middle-aged drunk woman. Seriously, women were literally falling down drunk in front of us - to the point that they missed the best part of the concert...Don't Stop Believing. Night Ranger opened up for them. I had no idea who they were...give up? Sister Christian.

Tonight I attended a Premier Jewelry party that one of Aaron's coworkers hosted while Erin attended Zumba and Aaron took in some quality time with Kendall. Here they are laughing together.

Oh, and Kendall sprouted a surprise for us while we were away - her first tooth! You can't really see it (or we would have taken a picture), but you can definitely feel it.

Doodah Doodah

Well since it has been awhile since the last post - here is the update...

Last weekend we enjoyed watching the Chips win on the computer. We went out after to Viva la Vista in downtown Columbia and several people commented on our t-shirts. Go fire up Chips! Thanks to Kyle and Anneliese for Kendall's cute shirt. She looks great!

We also took aunt Erin out to breakfast at Waffle House since she had never been. It was yummy. Here she is pondering what to order. You can see Kendall in the highchair behind her...Yes, she has upgraded to restaurant highchairs.

This week was pretty much the same...work, aerobics, trivia on Wednesday, etc. Last night we all fell asleep watching netflix - sad! This morning though, we were up-and-at-em' to take in the Doodah parade as part of Lexington's funfest!

Aaron and I are about to leave for the big weekend (well, night) away in Atlanta for the Journey concert! I'll be singing my heart out.

Here is Kendall in her new outfit from Gma Rose. She also likes her Halloween straw. Thanks too to the Denjas (in particular Carmen) for the present for Kendall and my new coffee mug - I love it! I enjoyed it all week.

In other news, the Aaerins had cable installed - ahhhhh! I have absolutely no control in my own house. And...Gma Alice, Gpa Bob, Gma Rose, Aunt Leigh, and maybe Petey will be visiting us soon - they got a great deal on a flight to Myrtle Beach on October 26-28. So, it will be a really quick trip. But, we can't wait! Then Gpa Rick and Grammy visit us the first weekend in November. Yay!

Okay I try not use the blog as an overt venue to share my political views on hot button issues, but I just can't keep quiet any longer. Two things have recently been addressed in the news that portray SC in a not-so-favorable light. Aaron and I have a running joke now...that at least in my opinion South Carolina has a tendency to be last in everything good and first in everything bad - which leads me to the issues at hand.

The Governor is a joke (a virtual laughing stock - now even his own party members are calling for his resignation), the Congressmen are rude (Okay, Joe, you may not agree with the man - you may even think he did lie, but what about a little bit of respect for the office of the President), and at least some of the population/parents are so concerned that their children will be brainwashed that they won't even allow them to listen to a different view point. Okay so maybe you don't agree with the message that President Obama was sending to kids, so use the address as a "teachable moment." No, instead restrict what they see and hear in hopes to shelter your children from another viewpoint. I have news for you...they will be exposed to different view points at some point in their lives.

All this and so much more has caused me to question, what the hell am I doing in this state?

In other not-so-political news...we have a new stove, tv, and blue ray disk player. Why not just throw myself into the world of the consumerism. I am now just one of the masses. I admit...I caved, I just can't take the pressure that the Aaerins exert...I am now in the minority and all by myself in the world.

Kendall also got a new big girl car seat. We haven't tried it yet, but since she is so tall and growing so fast we went ahead and bought the next size up.

Labor Day Weekend

So it seems the posts have been relegated to the weekend. So here is the week's update...

Had a nice meeting at work this week with the staff to kick off the weekend. Saturday Erin and I enjoyed a girl's night out in downtown Columbia. We met friends for dinner, drinks and dancing while visiting a few new bars. Aaron and Kendall hung out with Scott and the family where they got to take a few of the football games.

Sunday we went shopping for a new stove. It seems that a smooth cook top can crack fairly easily when you accidentally drop a bottle of olive oil. And since the cost to replace just the range top is essentially the same as a new stove, it was off to the appliance store we went. And...since we were there why not look at some televisions right? That's right after about an hour we not only had a new stove, but a 47 inch flat screen LG television, and a blue-ray disk player - just for good measure. All will be delivered on Wednesday. So we'll be sure to update you with pictures once they all arrive.

Monday we baked a bit to prepare for our day with friends. Erin made a corn salad and I made Texas sheet cake and bean salad. Then we loaded up and headed to help the Boyce family celebrate daughter Kate's first birthday. We could only stay a bit as we had another engagement in Gaston for a pig pickin' with Aaron's coworkers/friends. Here we are enjoying some pork bbq.

This morning I was up early with Aaron. It is only 8:15 a.m. and I have already had my coffee, cleaned both bathrooms, watered the plants, unloaded the dishwasher, started the laundry, and started to dust. Hopefully the rest of the day is as productive. Tonight is our first Zumba class at the leisure center, so hopefully it is fun because otherwise I don't think I will be able to drag myself to three nights of exercise a week (added to our aerobics class on Monday and Thursday)! Meanwhile Aaron has buffed up (and lost about 10 pounds) as well in his new P90X routine.
