What a life.

Kendall relaxing after another busy week/weekend in SC!

We worked around the house - mowing the lawn; installing Kendall's seat on Aunt Erin's beach cruiser; and baking muffins, hummus (with the magic bullet) and homemade pizza.
We watched some Weeds - our new series on netflix - which is quite funny I might add.
We bought new cell phones - mine is the new "Reclaim" which just came out and is Sprint's new 'green' phone.
Aaron and Erin took part in the Fantasy football draft while I made lunch and Kendall munched on some celery.

6 Months

Kendall just turned 6 months old - it is hard to believe! We celebrated on Friday night by taking her to Wings and Ale. We introduced her to celery...which we found is a great teething tool.
On Saturday we spent the day running some errands. We visited a thrift store to look for a desk for Aunt Erin's room. We picked up several great finds. I got an old 50's type vintage chair to match Grandma Losinski's old kitchen table. It was in great condition and somewhat matched the other 2 I already had. I also picked up a set of matching night stands. They need to be either painted or stripped, but for $15 for the three - it was a steal. Aunt Erin did find a desk...or rather, (in true Erin style) pieces of a desk that she will create. Together an old glass door and metal drafting table frame will act as a desk for her room. We'll be sure to post pictures once we complete our 'projects.' The best part of the story was the roach that climbed out of the nightstand and nearly caused me to swerve off the road on the way home. Gross! We also visited the farmers market and picked up Erin's weekly treat (Mt Dew in a glass bottle).
We continued our efforts at stripping. sanding, and painting the old black dressers. We made a lot of progress. The goal is to finish painting them today and get them moved in tomorrow. While outside in the yard, Aunt Erin was bit several times...26 mosquito bites on one leg to be specific.
Now, all the remains is to finish up and find some cool hardware.
We wrapped up the weekend with the final trivia match. We didn't have all the normal members present (even Aunt Erin opted out for some alone time) and didn't do nearly as well. But, alas it was fun!
Kendall had her 6 month appointment this morning. She now weighs 18. 5 pounds (90th percentile), is 28.5 inches long (over the 100th percentile), and her head is 16 3/4 inches around (50th percentile). I was looking back through her records this morning and she has grown 3 inches between each visit. We are still introducing baby foods. Her she is after having enjoyed some sweet potatoes.

Don't Stop Believing!

Happy Anniversary Aaron! I can't believe it's been five years since we got married and 14 since we started dating. I think the traditional gift should have been something wood - I got something much better....
Tickets to see Journey play just outside of Atlanta on September 19th!
And, today we'll celebrate with friends as we join the gang at the Flying Saucer downtown Columbia to partake in the semi-finals in trivia. Yes, we made it to the semi-finals. The showdown begins today at 4 p.m.

In other news Aunt Erin's first week with Kendall went very well. Not only did Kendall handle it very well, with no awkward adjustment of any meltdowns - so did Aunt Erin! The only thing I feel bad about is the weather. It has been rainy here all week, so they have barely made it out of the house together - other than to get the mail.
We did run a lot of errands this weekend - starting with dinner on Friday night at Chili's and then the farmers market, post office and school shopping on Saturday. Yesterday we also drove out to the boonies to attend a pool party at Aaron's administration's house to ring in the new school year. Kendall really loves to swim!

Beach Baby

Another great weekend. Here are Kendall and I in her new outfit from Grandma Rose. Isn't the hat cute.
But...I think it's the shades that really make the outfit.
We took advantage of Ms Page's offer to babysit Kendall so that Aaron and I could spend a night out at the movies. We decided to watch "Funny People." It was pretty good all told, but fairly long at 3 hours. Apparently Kendall didn't like us being gone too much as she spend some time crying. Poor Ms. Page. I definitely think Kendall is at the stage in which she doesn't like to find herself in unfamiliar territory or with unfamiliar people. I sure hope that things go well when Aunt Erin arrives.

Here is a shot at Kendall practicing sitting up on her own. She is doing pretty well. She is also doing well eating her baby food. I think so far she likes carrots the best.

We spent Saturday hanging around the house. We had dinner with the Weidner family who we hadn't seen in quite awhile. We helped to break in their new Wii.

Sunday we woke up and headed to school to help Aaron get ready for Wednesday...his first day back. Since it wasn't much fun for Kendall, we agreed that Monday would just about her.

And, today proved to be the best day of the weekend. We wanted to head to Folly Beach on the coast. But, after deciding that it was too far away, we headed instead to the local beach on Lake Murray - some 10 minutes away. Kendall loved it! Her she is practicing her kicking.
As you can see by the sky in this photo, it was a beautiful day to be outside.
Here she is after the swim - pretty tuckered out! Now, we are back at home grilling chicken and veggies for dinner. Aunt Erin should arrive late this evening to start her new role as nanny.
