Summer Loving

Kai and Gerda. So cute!
The girls and Aaron surprised me with flowers at work.
We took a break from dance this summer. However, we were able to be a part of a flash mob proposal on the horseshoe at USC campus. It was super cool!
And of course we went to the zoo several times.

Despite Aaron's feelings, Gerda likes him best!

Cheraw State Park

So in mid-July we headed to Cheraw State Park to spend some time unplugged...Aaron couldn't make it one night without his phone (pictured behind the SoCo).

This is my happy place.

We got to go swimming in the lake, paddle boating, and playing on the playground.

Daddy even put together a scavenger hunt. The grand prize...Peanut Butter Cups!

I kicked Aaron's butt in rummy.

Bench mark on the dam's spill way.

And this is the scene of the crime. The day before we went for an innocent walk on the boardwalk. Avery - forever curious - decided to take a closer look and literally somersaulted into the lake. It was like slow motion! Kendall began screaming like a mad women and some poor fisherman came running to help. Avery did a great job staying calm and treading water till Daddy could come from about ten feet away to scoop her up and out of the muck. It was scary and the poor thing was stunned. It was a good teachable moment about staying calm in a scary situation and being careful.

July 4th Celebrations in SC

A stop for breakfast in Brighton, complete with hot chocolate and whip cream and turtle pancakes.
We headed back to SC on July 4th with a pit stop to see the Weidners in Ohio and hotel. This time we ditched daddy (who stayed back for his annual mancation) and brought back Grandpa Bob and Maria.

We made it back to SC safe and sound and went for a swim - lots of swimming!

Even dad found you can beat the SC heat and humidity with a float and the proper mix of hydration.

 We stopped for ice cream!
Later Grandma Rose, Carmen, and Peter joined us in SC for a short visit. We took in a Blowfish game.

More ice cream and night swimming for the Denja girls.

Pokagon 2015

Our first official camping trip of summer 2015 and we headed to Michigan. We set out with the truck and camper in later June. A quick stop to Chuckie Cheese for lunch before heading to Sturgis to celebrate Great Grandma Alice's 90th birthday. It was a great family affair celebrating Grandma Alice.

After the family birthday celebration we headed to Pokagon to continue our family fun.
Mazie liked the pop up camper. We spend 2 nights with Grammie and Gpa Rick, Aunt Kathy and Uncle Chad, the Denja clan, and Pam/Matt Loskinski and family. Grandpa Wayne and Grandma Char and Grandpa Jack along with Uncle Mike and Aunt Robin, and mom and dad made an appearance to play corn hole and celebrate each other.

We ended up with great weather virtually the whole weekend and we had a great time. Next stop a short visit with Grandma Rose and Grandpa Bob in Brighton before heading home July 4th.
