Happy Haircut!

Okay you may have noticed that in the last blog post of Kendall reading she was doing this weird tongue thing. I am pretty sure she had a piece of her hair in her mouth. To add to that, in the last week she had begun to push her hair to the side - quite annoyed like. In fact, I even got a video of it. I guess you could say that it was the last straw...that on top of the fact that our family has been nagging us and nearly every day Aaron picks her up from daycare, he insists she is the 'rag-a-muff' in the room with her hair all disheveled. So, we made the decision to take the leap and get the first haircut! The before...she doesn't look too sure of all this!And...in a matter of seconds it was done.
She was very being brave - braver than mommy who actually got a little teary-eyed...not because of the concept, because she looks so different. She's a little girl, not my baby :(

She even got a blow dry! First time for this so she was a little hesitant.We celebrated with a sugar cookie the next day! YUMMO!

So, it took awhile, but as promised here are a few shots of Kendall's latest photo shoot. We don't want to give it all away because most of you will be getting these for xmas presents, so here are some of the poses we didn't choose.

Recovering

Nice shot of me huh? Thought I would include this so people could see how things are coming along. Had a doctor's appointment on Monday. Things are going well. Looks like she has dropped a bit and blood pressure and weight are good. Go back in two weeks, then the weekly visits begin.

Kendall and I visited a pumpkin patch on Sunday. She had a blast - running to each one and picking it up. We picked out a white one for her to paint, one for mommy to carve, and a small warty one that just screamed daddy.

So cute.

Kendall was hit with something this weekend. She has had a cough and threw up for the first time Saturday morning. At first we thought that perhaps it was just due to some phlegm. But, alas it continued. Here she is cuddling with daddy. Fortunately she never ran a fever and seems to be over it now.

Bad news is she passed it on to mommy who was sick all day Monday and then daddy got it Monday night. Aaron and I both stayed home from work today and appear to be on the mend. I think it is ironic that for 6 years now, I have asked Aaron to play hookie with me, and the one time we actually do stay home together we spend the day apart - him in bed and me on the couch recovering. Aaron is still a bit whiney, but that is to be expected I guess. Let me tell ya, it is times like this that you really "feel" being away from family and friends. It is hard work to be a sick parent!

Here is just a random shot of Kendall reading. She loves to read to herself now and it is very cute as she just babbles as she turns pages. She continues to add words to her vocabulary. This weekend she surprised us with "you ready," when rough housing with daddy. So darn cute!

We did manage to get a picture setting in this weekend and have some great shots to share with everyone. We'll try to post a few of those in the next few days.

Happy Birthday, Mateo!

Well, it is official...I am an aunt again! Mateo was born yesterday at 5:26 p.m. Mom, baby, and fam are doing well. Can't wait to meet him the end of this month.
