The Great Flood of 2015

Grammy and Gpa Rick headed down to SC in early October - to go camping with us. Mother Nature had different plans. Instead it rained - A LOT! In fact, it rained so hard and for so many days that it turned into the great flood of 2015. Road/interstates were shut down, countless dams were breached, and entire neighborhoods were under water. Neither the kids or Aaron has school for days. But, we survived with virtually no damage. So many others were not as fortunate as us.

 The girls enjoyed banana splits.

 We took in some ice skating at the Plex.

 Our backyard turned into a lake. 

 Our pump was under water. 

 The pool almost overflowed.

 We made the best of it and enjoy the time with each other.

 This is the result of the overflow of the dam near Rhoten Country Store. 

Construction at the Old Mill. It was so sad, but also inspiring to see so many people helping each other and pitching in to help clean up. It varied by specific location, but most of the Midlands and Coastal areas experienced between 15 and 25 inches of rain over October 1 through October 6, 2015.

Do the Locomotion with me!

A few ladies and I took part in a fantastic race experience in late September. The Locomotion is a 3 day walk/race to benefit local SC low country breast cancer treatment centers. We had a fantastic time and hope to make it an annual event.

 We continued the fun in Savannah for a girls night out. 

 We took a pedicab to old town.

 These two (2 of 3 triplets) rocked it and ran all three days!

A last reward before we parted ways. It was such a great weekend!

 Avery hard at work with the United States map. So cool that Mr. Jeffcoat sends us random pictures of her and her various activities at school. We really have been blessed by the ECC.

 Her class got to decide what their own mission statement would be - future leaders at work. 

 This was a family reading night at Lake Murray Elementary school - very neat. We visited the scholastic book fair after.
