Which is Which?

It is cause for celebration in the Mason household - baseball season is officially over! Tonight was coach's last game. Since I took off work a bit early for Avery's doctor appointment I decided to pack up the ladies and head to the old ball field. They lost again. Aaron won't tell me their final record, but I think they only wound up winning 3 games. They didn't look too bad, just puny little guys. Kendall had a good time. She got to ride home from the game with daddy who sang her "Take Me Out to the Ball game" the whole way.

Aaron reported that it is too bad he isn't coaching next year, because the coach from the other team shared his scorebook ap for his IPad. Aaron was most impressed.

In other news, Avery is doing great. She is 25 1/4 inches tall and weighs 14 pounds, 5 ounces. She in only about 1/2 inch shorter then Kendall was at this age and about a pound lighter. The doctor said we can try some rice cereal, so that ought to be a fun this weekend.

While we were hanging out this weekend, I noticed that Avery was wearing the same shirt from a picture we had taken with Kendall. So I decided to do a little comparison shot. Can you tell who is who?

Home Sweet Home

Well it has been another great visit with the family. Aunt Mary, Mom, Dad and Great Gma Alice all arrived on Tuesday evening to spend a few days with us. The weather has cooperated nicely and although Aaron and I each had to work, it has been a nice visit. Yesterday we took full advantage of the nice weather and time together, by taking a trip to Columbia to Finlay Park to celebrate freedom festival.

I forgot a hat for little Avery so we improvised and used the sling. She loves her sling and I will be sad when she outgrows it.

Kendall and daddy had a great time running and playing in the park.

Kendall was a bit scared to sit in the helicopters on display....

But she overcame her fear with daddy's help and for the chance to climb the little ladder.

Aunt Mary and mom finally have some time to relax and take in some sun...instead of cleaning and doing my laundry.

We were so glad that Great Gma Alice could come down to see us as well.

It has also been a week of firsts...Kendall learned to blow bubbles with Gma Rosies' help. She was so excited she literally shook with joy!

Here we are all sitting down to enjoy a home-cooked meal of Stouffer's lasagna.

While Avery had a couple of crying jags while they were here (which is very un-like her), she finally warmed up and enjoyed some time with Gma Alice. She also hit a milestone this week -she rolled from her tummy to her back, first for Ms. Cindy and then a few times at home.

Aaron and Avery are pulling in the drive as we speak with our next round of visitors - Uncle Adam and Grammie. So more pictures and descriptions of events to come...

Battle Royale

This weekend we spotted two lizards outside...we told Kendall that they were kissing. We are not entirely sure how things wound up, but it certainly doesn't look good for the one.

These guys are also responsible for eating the eggs out of the bird's nest in the hanging basket on the front porch. Bummer because it would have been fun for Kendall to watch them hatch.

Sisters

Well I finally got the veggies planted this past weekend while the girls were napping. I can't wait to see it all grow...that is if I can remember to water. I am determined that this year will be the best. We planted tomatoes, peppers, zucchini, beans, and peas. Took several shots of the girls together. I don't have a clue where they got those beautiful blue eyes, but the are awesome! Here is hoping that they grow up to be the best of friends.

The last few days with Avery have been rough. I am not sure whether she is teething, has gas, or is just having a rough go of it. She hasn't been running a temp, but boy has she been grouchy. I am convinced that there is NOTHING in the world worse then a crying baby in the car - when you can't do anything to console them. Fotunately today was much better and she seems to have turned a corner. Good thing - I like my laid-back, happy baby. I missed her these last few days.

And I have to give props to the hubby who surprised me at work with flowers today and a note thanking me for everything I do with the house and girls. I know I don't say it enough, but I LOVE him. It will be nice to have him back. Only 3 more games and 9 more days of practice to go!
