April Fun

This month started out with the dvd release of FROZEN! Hands down my favorite Disney Princess movie.
Avery and I got to spent some quality time with each other at the zoo exploring on my day off.
Then Aaron and the girls headed to MI and I headed to San Deigo for momcation.
While there I got to help the Houghtens with their new garden.
We also visited Petco Park to watch the Tigers. We even saw Verlander score a couple runs.
We took in some art at the Los Angeles County Museum. I guess these lamp posts are featured on an episode of Modern Family.

This was a really cool display of just some yellow rubber ropes.  It was super fun to play in.
I even got to experience Roscoe's - the home of chicken and waffles!
Then some junking at the Rose Bowl.
And finally what visit to San Diego would be complete without a visit to Seaport Village.

Heart and Sole

Our Easter weekend was spent just hanging around the house. We took bubble baths and got dressed up in the dresses Gma Rose made for our Easter egg hunt at the house.
We took in a USC softball game to show Kendall that girls can play baseball. While there we stopped for a photo-op with the mascot. After spotting him at the entrance, Avery kept asking where the chicken went.

This past weekend I participated in the Providence Heart and Sole 5 mile run with my friend Valerie.
We had a nice time and again took advantage of the photo-ops.

The best part was the rose and chocolate covered strawberry at the end!

St Pats in 5 Points

A tradition...5 some odd years in the making.  This year I did the 10k and made good time.  I think it was the Smithwicks and chili cheese fries that I knew were waiting for me at the end.

Homage to the good old Scottville Clown Band.
As always we had a blast! Slainte!

We took Kendall in for her regular appointment. She is 47 inches tall and 59 pounds.  Still off the charts in both.  She is getting REALLY good at reading lately.  She amazes me. She can now read entire books by herself.  We had a great birthday party for her at the local marionette theater.  She invited several friends from school. She reminds me a lot of Aunt E in terms of her personality...which, as some of you may know should prove challenging for me in a few years!  We love her so much and I can't believe she is 5 years old already!

This Valentines...the Earth Shook Under My Feet

Well, reportedly SC experienced an earthquake on top of all this snow. It happened last night...supposedly centered in Edgefield, SC and was recorded as a magnitude 4.1.  Did we feel it?  Sadly, no. We were driving home from our date night and missed the whole darn thing! Ms Patti was here with the girls and said she felt it.
Just one of the many pictures...courtesy of Avery.
 Valentines goodies for the girls.

The book of Hoyle for mom because we have had to consult so many rules for card games lately.
 Avery and her books.
Dad models the stick-on earings. Don't they look nice.
Aaron came through with some beautiful flowers.
And, of course...sugar cookies! Kendall even rolled some of the dough.

The girls have loved playing there new game from Gma Char and Gpa Jack - Dr. Seuss' I Can Do That.
A tree branch snapped with all the snow and ice here in SC. It happened while we were at mom and dad's. Fortunately it didn't fall on anything or cause any major damage.
So as a result...what did Aaron get for Valentines Day?  A chain saw to cut down the branch.
