Just another great day.

**Disclaimer for all you dog owners: I appreciate your decision to own a dog. I even like them myself. I am sure I will own one someday. It will just be quiet!**

So I feel compelled to write about my day yesterday - it being so close to Mother's Day and all. I began the morning similar to any other Monday (which I lucky enough to have off) and went to get Kendall out of her crib. She greeted me with the cutest little smile and hug. We then proceeded to snuggle for a bit. I fed her her breakfast and while she ate I decided I would make some Raisin Bran muffins for me. Starting out to be a great day!

After about 20 minutes the timer beeps for the muffins and as many of you know, there is nothing better in the world than warm, buttery raisin bran muffins. So, I proceed to take them out of the oven. Only as I dig each one out of its respective muffin tin, I feel something on the back of my leg. I turn around and Kendall has the can of grease from under the kitchen sink in her hand - upside down! Grease all over the kitchen floor! But, how can I be mad at her. She didn't neglect to watch herself or neglect to baby proof that particular cardboard as any good mom should.

So, I remove her grease covered pants and give her something to play with out of harms way and begin to scrub the kitchen floor (as my muffins get cold). About an hour later, and several buckets of baking soda and vinegar I think the floor is finally clean or at least not a slippery mess. Nothing says good morning like the smell and site of a big pile of grease!

So the day continues...I lay Kendall down for her much needed nap at about noon. She typically sleeps for a few hours (the day before was 3 hours!), so I settle into some lunch and start to make plans for all the things I can get accomplished before she wakes up (cleaning the bathrooms - toilets in particular which I can't help but notice lately need to be cleaned in a bad way, etc). Only she wakes up only 45 minutes in! So I go get her and we proceed outside to play...clearly not the end of the world.

Later on that day, as I am about to fall asleep, I decide again to try to lay her down. We proceed to her room with books in tow. We read, we begin to nestle down and she is asleep. Victory! I begin to creep out or her room, only to be interrupted by the dogs next door barking through the open bedroom window. Kendall shoots up..."Doggy!" Yeah, baby those are doggies. I quickly shut her window and run to the back door like a banshee! "Shut up you stupid dogs! Don't you have owners? Where the hell are they?" Minutes later the neighbor boy (all of 10ish) can be found outside wrangling in the dogs. The nerve. This kid needs to learn some responsibility!

So that was my day! Fitting I think for the day after Mother's Day. Happy Mom's day to everyone I didn't get a chance to talk to personally and thanks to everybody for the cards and messages.
