So we had one last vacation this past weekend as we headed to Myrtle Beach to drop off Grandma Rosie who came to our rescue and watched Kendall this past week (who started school a week later than the rest of us). It was a great trip!
We found lots of creatures in the tide pools.
We didn't have Kendall's 'swimmies' so she had to go without - the perfect opportunity to prove she is ready to swim on her own.
We went out to eat at a local bar across the street from the hotel and Kendall put on a show for us using this wooden post as her microphone.
She liked looking out off the pier.
Our lame self portrait.
A fish ruler.
We stopped in to check out this place for breakfast and Kendall fell in love with this ship. It was Prince Eric's and it even came complete with mermaids and flags.
And who could visit Myrtle Beach without taking in a game of putt putt golf!
Nice form.
After dropping off Grandma we headed back home. Kendall was TIRED!
And, the first day of school! Kendall starts a 3-year old Montessori school (free for kids of district employees). Meaning she can Daddy can ride to school together. Her first day went well - after her teacher Ms. Gleaton discovered Kendall's irrational fear of loud toilets and got her to go to the bathroom in the afternoon. We tried to get her to explain some of her 'work' to us - so far we got that she likes to pick up and place balls - not sure what that is about, but Daddy said she was beaming when he picked her up yesterday. She has also started a dance class on Tuesday nights - so it was a long day yesterday, but she loved it!
As for Avery she is doing great! Adding lots of word to her vocabulary and even stringing them together in sentences. She has sprouted several new teeth with both eye teeth soon to make an appearance. She is back into the swing of things too at daycare. It was a much better transition than I thought it would be.
As for Daddy - not sure how this crop of kids will be. He started another Master's class this week and is on his way. He continues to teach social studies - but also added language arts again this year.
