A Saturday Hike

Yesterday we decided to visit Peachtree Rock (a local hiking trail) just off Hwy 6, incidentally about 5 minutes from Aaron's school. We didn't really know what to expect, but it ended up being a great little spot. As the link indicates this preserve is managed by the Nature Conservancy and is known for its rock formations and the midlands only waterfall. It was a really neat spot. Here are some pics...

Nope, this isn't white sand from a romantic beach, rather the white sand that makes up the South Carolina sand hills.

The Rock that the preserve is perhaps most famous for.
My nieces would have loved this tree. You really can't see it, but the bend in the tree set about 4 feet off the ground. Aaron helped to boost me up (after dropping me first...I have a nice scrape on my arm to proove it).
All in all it was a great day. We took the motorcycle and stopped at Sonic afterward for Strawberry lime aids. It was such a nice day to be outside.

Look, spellcheck in Blogspot hasn't been working, so give me a break!

The girls would love the tree, and the rock and the waterfall too. Looks like fun.
I noticed that too about the Spell Checker no longer working. Hope it gets fixed.
