Just Keep Swimming

Our old friend Brooks stopped in for a visit. We hadn't seen him in a long time so he joined us for supper club at our house - Luau themed.
But first he and the girls enjoyed the pool.

Then it was time to get ready for the end of season dance recital. Both girls did great.

Avery got her very own trophy.
And Kendall got a ribbon to signify her two years spent dancing at Stepping Out. And (what brought tears to my eyes) - Kendall was voted "most improved" by her dance teachers.
And, last but not least Kendall and I finally finished Ms. Gleaton's quilt. I sewed the rows and Kendall either hand stitched designs or used fabric markers to draw pictures that represented things that she has done or learned the last 3 years at the ECC.

I even tried - and I dare say was successful - at the elusive mitered corners.
On Monday we went to the ECC to celebrate with Kendall's class. It was such a neat time to watch a picture powerpoint display of all the things that the kids have done while at the ECC. Each of the kids shared their recent project and read their own stories. Kendall has had Ms. Gleaton as her teacher for 3 years now and it was certainly a bittersweet occasion and we said goodbye to her. She has been such a great influence in Kendall's life and we couldn't have asked for a better teacher.

Here is Kendall sharing with Ms. Gleaton the quilt she and I made. So special. We will miss her!
