6 Months

Kendall just turned 6 months old - it is hard to believe! We celebrated on Friday night by taking her to Wings and Ale. We introduced her to celery...which we found is a great teething tool.
On Saturday we spent the day running some errands. We visited a thrift store to look for a desk for Aunt Erin's room. We picked up several great finds. I got an old 50's type vintage chair to match Grandma Losinski's old kitchen table. It was in great condition and somewhat matched the other 2 I already had. I also picked up a set of matching night stands. They need to be either painted or stripped, but for $15 for the three - it was a steal. Aunt Erin did find a desk...or rather, (in true Erin style) pieces of a desk that she will create. Together an old glass door and metal drafting table frame will act as a desk for her room. We'll be sure to post pictures once we complete our 'projects.' The best part of the story was the roach that climbed out of the nightstand and nearly caused me to swerve off the road on the way home. Gross! We also visited the farmers market and picked up Erin's weekly treat (Mt Dew in a glass bottle).
We continued our efforts at stripping. sanding, and painting the old black dressers. We made a lot of progress. The goal is to finish painting them today and get them moved in tomorrow. While outside in the yard, Aunt Erin was bit several times...26 mosquito bites on one leg to be specific.
Now, all the remains is to finish up and find some cool hardware.
We wrapped up the weekend with the final trivia match. We didn't have all the normal members present (even Aunt Erin opted out for some alone time) and didn't do nearly as well. But, alas it was fun!
Kendall had her 6 month appointment this morning. She now weighs 18. 5 pounds (90th percentile), is 28.5 inches long (over the 100th percentile), and her head is 16 3/4 inches around (50th percentile). I was looking back through her records this morning and she has grown 3 inches between each visit. We are still introducing baby foods. Her she is after having enjoyed some sweet potatoes.

Wow! Very unusual mosquito bites down south. Almost looks like big rectangles. Give Kendall hugs and kisses from all of us.
